Call for the creation of a new breed of institution to finance smaller businesses
25th Nov 2009
The director general of the CBI, Richard Lambert, has said that fresh providers of equity and debt capital to small and medium-sized businesses are needed.
In setting out proposals resulting from a wide-ranging survey released in conjunction with Deloitte, he said he is "especially concerned about the availability of finance for small companies" in Britain.
Mr. Lambert went on to say that: “The new world will be less about complex financial transactions, more about collaboration, partnership and longer-term relationships…”
Company Partners entirely agrees with these statements and are working with private Investors, known as Business Angels, to bring alternative sources of funds available to small and medium size businesses.
Unlike many “Business Angel Networks”, Company Partners provides this service on-line through a sophisticated database which automates much of the process; this could become a National resource for the UK and provide at least one element in the CBI’s vision.
